Our role

RealEstateSite Africa is an online property advertising and listing marketplace. We provide listing, advertising, search, profile and enquiry tools only.

We are not an estate agency, we do not hold a Fidelity Fund Certificate, we do not act as an estate agent for any user, we do not negotiate or conclude transactions, we do not hold deposits, rent, trust or any client money, and we do not provide legal, valuation or financial advice.

We do not guarantee ownership or title, the accuracy or availability of any listing, the registration status of any advertiser, the availability of bond finance, or that any transaction will complete.

Using the platform

You must be at least 18 years old and provide accurate information about yourself and any property you advertise.

You may not post duplicate, misleading, fraudulent, unlawful or discriminatory listings, or advertise property you have no mandate to market.

We may edit, reject, unpublish, suspend or remove any listing or account at our discretion, including where a listing appears inaccurate, duplicated or fraudulent.

Estate agent responsibility

Estate agents and agencies advertising on the platform must be registered with the Property Practitioners Regulatory Authority (PPRA) and hold a valid Fidelity Fund Certificate where the law requires it.

Advertisers are solely responsible for the legality, accuracy and completeness of their listings, prices, photographs, availability, mandates and contact details, and for compliance with the Property Practitioners Act and the Consumer Protection Act.

Advertisers must respond honestly to enquiries and may not request payments for viewings or for 'reserving' a property.

Pricing

Standard listings, seeker profiles, agent, agency and developer profiles and enquiries are currently free in South Africa.

Any paid product will be clearly priced in South African Rand (ZAR), inclusive of VAT where applicable, before purchase. No paid product is available in South Africa at this time.

Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, we are not liable for losses arising from your dealings with any advertiser, buyer, tenant, landlord, agent or third party introduced through the platform.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Consumer Protection Act.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa.
